Spring 2015 Gibbons STRENGTH and Conditioning Team
(From L to R: Coach Torres, Coach Morland, Coach Amer, and Coach Blaser)
The process of building a championship team takes skill, patience, and lots of hard work. One newly-formed support program at Cardinal Gibbons High School is committed to the process of building champions in the classroom, on the field, and through the community.
The Gibbons STRENGTH and Conditioning program is currently finishing the first year and has seen a team rise up to meet the needs of students, staff, and athletes. So far, five team members have invested their coaching skills and expertise into this program and it is making a profound impact. Coach Amer Nahhas, who has assisted from the beginning, has helped make incredible progress with the girls and guys athletic teams. Coaches Chelsea Torres and Erin Blaser joined the team this year and have focused on the staff needs and girls training.
This group of coaches dedicates time weekly holding staff improvement meetings to sharpen one another for increased effectiveness. This semester, they have been reading a book called the “Irrefutable Laws of Teamwork” by John Maxwell, which has formed a strong team bond. Our mission is: “to create a positive environment that is relational and get results” and we’re supporting one champion at a time!
