As an eagle stirs up its nest,
hovers over its young,
spreading out its wings,
taking them up,
carrying them on its wings,
so the LORD alone led him.
Deuteronomy 32:11-12
It is that time of year when we are all a little reflective. Looking back at the past year, fondly remembering the good times, the victories, the accomplishments, the special people in our lives. It is a season of change – ready to move on, to forget the not-so-good, a time to be out with the old and in with the new. A time to let go of the past and to embrace the future. These are the seasons of our lives. As Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 3:1,3,
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven…a time to tear down and a time to build.
For me, 2016 marks a transition for my own life. I have the joy as a wife and mother to fulfill the role God has for me. I believe there is no greater job for a woman by God’s master design. It is a delight to see my children growing and soaking in the world around them like little sponges. My new role as co-partner of Morland STRENGTH does not detract from my primary role, but perfectly complements it. Many women wrestle with the thought of returning to work, but i am embracing this new season and business venture with my husband. As our youngest turns 5 this year and goes off to kindergarten, I have the perfect job waiting for me – the opportunity to use my own skills and talents for our new business.
I will once again be putting my architecture degree to work. I have helped to build buildings, and I have helped to build up kids. I owned my home daycare business for 6 years. But now I will be teaming up with my husband, my partner, my friend to build our next new venture, Morland STRENGTH LLC. He gets to do what he loves – coach, train, teach, advise, speak, partner, blog, and I get to use my own unique gifts – design, graphics, page layouts, editing, administration, and even blogging. He is the visionary and big-picture thinker, I am the detail oriented one. Even better, I get to work from home and still be available to the people I love most.
Thank you for your interest in MorlandSTRENGTH.com. The words in our logo, Dunamis (dynamic) and Potentia (power) are also defined as “ENERGETIC”, “SPIRITED”, and “ACTIVE.” There is no other way I would rather begin 2016!
